We were happy to win the bid for remodeling this commercial kitchen.

The grease trap needed to be replaced. When we excavated the old grease trap, we found corroded and cracked cast iron pipe for a few feet down. We had the line camera’d, and discovered that 55 ft of cast iron pipe going all the way under the hotel lobby was busted and cracked.

We proposed trenchless pipe-bursting for 50ft, and additional excavation for the last 5 ft, as there were two 45º couplings that pipe bursting could not go through. We discussed with management and the area engineer. We submitted a change order, which was approved. We were able to perform the repair with minimal disruption and dust in the hotel, and avoided digging a costly trench through the whole lobby. Not a single guest breakfast was unable to be served.

After the repair was complete we backfilled and repaired the lobby carpet, and brought the project to completion without anymore problems.
